A Varsity Level Gathering, Planning for Varsity Level Action

On September 7 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 128 of our members, representing our 18 member organizations, came out for ACT’s Countywide Action Team meeting.  During this meeting we heard from our Action Research Teams. We applaud their work.

We also received a motivating message from the Rev. Dr. Karen Johnson, about ACT’s upcoming 5th Anniversary Celebration. Her message inspired us to “unify and amplify the unheard voices while bringing in the movers & shakers” for we need “more hands on deck”  to bring varsity level changes to AA County.

Josh Hatch, Executive Director of the Turnaround Thursday Movement delivered a report relaying their amazing work. The Turnaround Thursday Movement has employed 22 people, enrolled 41 people from the community, written 36 court letters, created 37 treatment plans, and much more. Josh closed his report saying because of the Turnaround Thursday Movement “lives have been changed and people have been employed, the Turnaround Thursday Movement is working!”

The goal for ACT’s 5th Anniversary Action on November 2 is to bring together 500 people, with 5 new member organizations, and to raise $25,000.

Save the Date for ACT’s 5th Anniversary Action – Thursday, November 2, 7pm at St. Andrew by the Bay
