ACT and the Maryland Just Power Alliance celebrated the passage of emergency legislation ending 287(g) agreements on Tuesday, February 17th! These harmful agreements send local police to do the work of ICE.

Thanks to ACT’s organizing with students from Arundel Middle School, students will soon walk to school more safely with new sidewalks.

Congratulations! On Monday night, the Council voted to strike down Bill 5-26, which would have weakened the Attainable Housing Act.

On Thursday night, September 18, 250 of us from PATH, AIM, and ACT gathered to publicly launch our listening campaign!

The Maryland Just Power Alliance was pleased to meet with Governor Moore on Wednesday, Sept 3 to support his “Housing Starts Here” executive order, and to plan future collaboration with his administration.

On Thursday, January 30, 116 of us from the Maryland Just Power Alliance (PATH, ACT, and AIM) came to Annapolis to participate in our democracy!

In 2024, ACT celebrated wins on attainable housing, descendant communities, and state-level policies. We are excited about our work with our sister organizations to create the Maryland Just Power Alliance, and we are also thrilled to welcome a new ACT organizer.

On Sunday, November 17th, 729 of us from PATH, ACT, and AIM gathered at St. John the Evangelist Church in Columbia for our Statewide Action for a Just Democracy!

At this time after the election, we know that our communities feel deeply divided and many of us are experiencing anxiety about what lies ahead. 

We did it! After several months of organizing, we achieved 3 major victories in the Maryland state legislature this year!

On Thursday, October 20th, 2022, 645 people joined together at Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church in Odenton, MD and online for a substantive conversation with candidate for Governor, Wes Moore, and Comptroller, Brooke Lierman.

On June 13, over 550 members and affiliates of Anne Arundel Connecting Together packed into Asbury United Methodist Church in downtown Annapolis, Maryland.
