ACT’s Current Campaigns

In our 2025 listening campaign, ACT listened to more than 400 people in 10 institutions—including congregations, schools, and apartment complexes. Facilitators asked participants, “What is keeping you and your family from thriving?”

Based on what we heard in our listening sessions, ACT is working on the following county-level campaigns:

  • Funding in the county budget for student pedestrian safety and resources for immigrants

  • Opposing housing bill 5-26, which would weaken the Attainable Housing Act

  • Crownsville redevelopment: living wage jobs and community benefits

  • Continuing our work with the Descendant Communities Coalition

  • Attainable housing and tenant organizing

At our Candidate Forum on May 21st, we will ask candidates to support our issue priorities if they are elected. Stay tuned for more details.

We are also working with our sister organizations in the Maryland Just Power Alliance on statewide campaigns on housing, climate, and immigration.
